Originally hailing from western Canada, Aaron Klingbeil produces, instructs and performs from his new home base in Halifax, Nova Scotia under the moniker Spacefood (a name free of any specific meaning). To the growing number of friends who are familiar with performances from Klingbeil, Spacefood signals a night of music deeply influenced by the psychedelic sounds of Infected Mushroom, Globular, Eskmo, Amon Tobin and the like.
Formally educated in audio engineering and music production, Aaron holds a studio engineering diploma from Metalworks Institute in Mississauga, Ontario. Upon graduation, Aaron received a mentorship award with Rick Fines for his honors achievement. Building on to this foundation, Klingbeil is continually expanding his knowledge of music technology as an instructor of electronic music production using Ableton Live at Long & McQuade Dartmouth. (What I’m trying to say here is that I’m a good guy to have around if you ever get into a confusing dilemma with your PA system at a show).
